Third Annual Teen Summit
(Omaha, NE)- June 21, 2014. It is with great excitement the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands, Boys Scouts of America, Completely KIDS, Girls, Inc., and YMCA will be hosting the Third Annual Teen Summit on June 27, 2014 at University of Nebraska-Omaha College of Business, Mammel Hall.
The Summit will begin at 9:00 a.m., and will go until 3:30 p.m. It will be a full day of productive interaction between our teens and our panel of experts.
The Summit will host over 200 teens from the Omaha, Council Bluffs, and Carter Lake communities to discuss the critical issues facing young people today. This will be an opportunity for teens to enhance their leadership skills and personal development.
The agenda will include keynote addresses as well as breakout sessions on key topics including, but not limited to: education, character and leadership, and healthy awareness. Entertainment components will also be feature through the event.
The Teen Summit is supported in part by Region 6 Behavioral Healthcare through the Substance Abuse Block Grant of the Division of Behavioral Health of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
The Mid-America Council, Boy Scouts of America has a strong tradition as one of the nation’s premier Scout councils. Since 1910, the Boy Scouts of America has instilled timeless values of character, citizenship, and leadership in each young man and woman who has entered the Scouting program. The Mid-America Council continues this tradition through educational-based skills and activities. Currently, there are 20, 814 Scouts and 7,017 volunteer leaders.
